Kids Stuff

I used to write a blog about making stuff with my kids. It was called Say Noodle. I also wrote other blogs and have a portfolio site. I just decided to put them all together. Rather than have three different sites to update. They’re all part of me. All the old Say Noodle stuff and any new kids stuff will now live under this category.

Cool Music for Cool Kids. Another awesome spotify Playlist

Posted in: Kids Stuff
By: Peter Costello

Edit: The playlist got featured over at How cool is that!

A while back I put together a Spotify playlist, “Kid’s music that doesn’t suck”, mostly for car trips with the little people that mixed up some of their favourite music with some of our favourite (Kid Friendly) music. Well I only dun did it again!

This time it’s 20 kid friendly tracks that should keep both parents and little ones happy, It’s a little bit jazz, a little bit jump up, quite a bit hip hop, there’s some classics and there’s even some nerd rock thrown in for good measure. It’s even a bit educational. I think that’s what they call “edutainment”.

You can check it out on Spotify or also on Share my playlists. Hope you like it.

The best photo I’ve taken in ages

I don’t use instagram as much as I used to, only very occasionally these days but this was something I posted a few weeks back and I was having a look back through my phone and came across it again and thought I’d share it here.

I love it!  Woot, pat on the back me… But enough high fiving myself, I love that it’s 1. A pretty striking image. 2. Taken with a phone and 3. It’s a cracking shot of the big man about to leap.  Poised, committed, ready to go for it.  Look at how rad he is! I just love it.

That is all.

The power of words

Hey matey, do you know why your brother is so moody with me? Ummmm… Maybe because he doesn’t like you.

Ouch! Thanks for not sugar coating it for me buddy:)

So when I last posted here I think we were just in the process of moving to a new life in the country. Well it’s been 8 or 9 months now and were still here.

I used to travel an hour each way to work and back and while I was on the train, that was when I’d write. Now, I ride my bike 10 minutes down the road along the beach to work and back.

I used to get home around 8.00 each night kiss the sleeping kids and have dinner. Now I get home at 4.45 each day. So you might say things have changed just a little bit. I used to work all the time. I would not be present while with the family because my head was trying to solve a problem or more likely stressing about a deadline.

These days I get home. Jump on the trampoline. Play Lego. Have dinner with the family. Bathe the boys, do the dishes and then collapse exhausted. This is not an excuse for why I haven’t been writing but more an insight as to what’s been going on. Who am I kidding, it’s totally an excuse for why I haven’t been writing.

That said…
We still love card board. We still make things but we do do a lot more outdoors stuff and we have really dialed up the Lego. (If you haven’t already, go see the movie, it’s rad!) I just haven’t been photographing and writing about it all.

I’m not sure what’s going to happen here. But it is definitely going to be something. I just haven’t worked out what it is yet.

It’s been a while (to say the least). In the last couple of months, we’ve turned our lives upside down. Sold our house, moved 1000 kms, bought a new house (a fixer upper) and changed jobs and through all of this upheaval and change, these two little dudes have been awesome.

That’s all:)

Note to self, next time, finish one thing BEFORE changing everything.

In Pictures: Just showing off now

This was a pic I took with phoster (which is a really cool app btw) on instagram at easter. There should have really been a question mark at the end of that statement as it was total day-dreaming and wishful thinking. Now today, it’s less than 4 weeks away from becoming an actual reality. I still can’t believe this is actually happening. Life Changing! Yeah, I’m totally freaking out! Crazy…
